I’m Glad ( but I miss my Dad) For my Dad, Alan:   I’m glad we had some time together, the day you passed away, I’m glad I had the time to tell you, the things I wanted to say.   I’m glad I got to let you know just how much you mean to me, And that you were the best dad; my hero, forever you’ll be.   That last time that I talked to you, oh how that time had flown. I’m glad we said ‘I love you’, while we talked on the phone.   I’m glad I had that time with you, the day you passed away, I gave you one last hug so tight, and kept my tears at bay.   I told you that I’m proud of you for being so courageous, Your bravery will be remembered, a legacy throughout the ages.   I kissed your head and held your hand, I had to let you go And I whispered that I’ll miss you, more than you’ll ever know.   I told you it’s not goodbye just now, that can never be, It’s simply ‘See you later, Dad’, in heaven you’ll wait for me.
